Environment Charter At Prime hotels we are committed to preserving the environment. In our hotels we have established various environmentally friendly and viable initiatives and practices with clear vision to reduce our Carbon footprint. We have identified 7 major fundamentals in order to achieve this: 1. Informing and raising awareness • Raise the hotel’s staff awareness of the environment • Integrate the preservation of the environment in all jobs • Make our guests aware of the environmental issues • Offer our guests less polluting means of transportation 2. Energy • Set objectives for limiting consumption • Monitor and analyse consumption every month • List potential technical improvements • Organize preventive maintenance • Use of low energy lamps for permanent lighting • Use of low energy lamps in bedrooms • Insulate pipes carrying hot/chilled fluids • Promote use of renewable energies 3. Water • Set objectives for limiting consumption • Monitor and analyse consumption every month • Install water flow regulators on showers, basin faucets/taps • Use efficient laundry equipment • Propose to guests to reuse towels • Propose to guests to reuse sheets 4. Waste • Recycle paper/cardboard packaging • Recycle papers, newspapers and magazines • Limit the use of disposable packaging for the hotel supplies • Recycle glass packaging • Recycle plastic packaging • Recycle metal cans • Organize sorting of waste in rooms • Limit individual packaging of hygiene products in bedrooms • Safe disposal of hotel batteries • Recycle electrical and electronic equipment • Recycle Ink cartridges • Safe disposal of fluorescent bulbs/tubes 5. Biodiversity • Participate in a local action for the environment • Use plants locally adapted • Water plants in a rational way • Reduce use of weed killers/insecticides/fungicides • Use organic fertilizers 6. Green Purchases • Use ecological paper • Favor Eco-label products • Favor organic products 7. Ozone Layer • Eliminate appliances containing CFC’s • Check that appliances containing CFC’s, HCFC’s & HC’s are leak proof.
