Throughout the resort’s twelve beachfront acres, one walks along meandering paths that are lined with lush tropical vegetation that provides shelter and cooler temperatures for guests and operations. Without being obvious, every space is enhanced to provide optimum conservation as seen in the stunning rows of fuchsia-colored bougainvillea that make up the roof of the fine dining Ruinas del Mar or the recycled waters flowing from the water falls. Within the resort walls, tropical breezes bring cooler air to public areas without having to add additional air conditioning while an energy management system is used to monitor overall consumption. Additionally, the restaurants have embraced the Hyatt philosophy of food, thoughtfully sourced, carefully served. The Food and Beverage team works as much as possible with local food vendors who also practice sustainability, menus are suitably portioned, and the chefs focus on using natural ingredients. Any waste is recycled, composted, or delivered to local pig farmers.
