I requested a handicap accessible room and got a closet. Accessible consisted of some grab bars put up in the supposed accessible tub. My wheelchair had little space in the room and just barely rolled into the bathroom and thus door would not close. My husband had to help me up and onto the short, tiny toilet and help me off. How awkward. Then to bathe he had to lift my legs into the tub so I could get on the shower chair to shower and same routine to get out. Definite fall hazard. We were told it was a deluxe room. I beg to differ. Overpriced for a few grab bars with a bed that was too high to get into. Should have had a walk in shower with chair. The $18 breakfast was avoided as I got the same breakfast complimentary at the Hamburg, NY IHG along with complimentary hot soup and cookies upon arrival there, complimentary water bottles on our way out and a spacious room and shower in Hamburg. I know Saratoga Springs tries to portray them selves as "high in the instep" but seriously, not worth the money I spent on a non accessible room. Was so glad to leave it all behind. Seriously, out fit a larger room with a visit from Bath fitter for a walk in shower and bench, ADA approved grab bars and taller, better toilet. This was not worth the money.
I would stay in this hotel again.
