Hotel Tybee has greatly improved in the last few years and continues to make advances each year. I have vacationed on Tybee Island for the last 49 years and moved to the Hotel Tybee about 6 years ago. The management is working hard to upgrade the property. This year they are adding a splash pad for the kids next to one of the pools.
Breakfast at two famous locations both within one block walking distance from the hotel. Hotel will cater breakfast for Groups

Hotel Tybee has greatly improved in the last few years and continues to make advances each year. I have vacationed on Tybee Island for the last 49 years and moved to the Hotel Tybee about 6 years ago. The management is working hard to upgrade the property. I hope this review is not taken as a tantrum from someone who has no common sense or empathy. I've been visiting this beautiful island for several years now and each time we stay at this great hotel. But unfortunately, I've witnessed its decline. From the scenery to the cleanliness and everything else.Every time we stay at this great Hotel, it is more than obvious that this Great Hotel needs to improve in many ways. From the landscape, to the parking, to the customer service, to better staff training and most of all, they need a commitment to the customer. Today was the last time I tried to stay there.After meeting the 4:00 p.m. check in time, I had to return not once, not twice, but three times just to confirm that our room wasn't ready due to a lack of staff.Or at least that's what I was told. I hope conditions really improve, as I do not wish to offend anyone.
Had two days out of 6 where the room was cleaned, towels were replaced, garbage emptied and tissues products were replenished. The other days I had to go to the main office or call to just have fresh towels for the day. I did request full service daily on check in day. This has happened two years in a row. It will be a great while before returning there, if at all.
We love everything about Hotel Tybee! We'll be back next summer and many after!
