One of my favorite hotels anywhere. They make you feel like family. On checking they upgraded us to a five room suite at no additional charge. I always stay here when in SF.
I spent two nights at the Stanyan Park hotel. The room was quite comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were all very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. The location was convenient to UCSF. Being so close to Golden Gate Park was a plus for me. I’d definitely return.
We arrived at 5 PM, easily finding the hotel thanks to its clear signage and well-maintained exterior. Offloading people and luggage was effortless due to the designated loading zone just outside the main entrance. Once inside, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the lobby—it even smelled fresh without being overly artificial. The concierge greeted us warmly, inviting us to their social gathering, complete with wine and other refreshments. Our room on the first floor felt like a lucky find, situated in a quiet corner facing Stanyan St. It had character, feeling more like a guest bedroom with an en suite bath than a typical hotel room. Throughout our brief visit, we encountered alert and friendly staff who were happy to offer recommendations for restaurants and coffeehouses.

It's cleanliness was very good. We recommend this hotel as very good.
Clean quiet comfortable friendly.
No Johnny Walker Black label whiskey was available. Only had one newspaper available. There was no separate shower recess. Otherwise it was quite comfortable and spacious.
We like this place because of what it doesn't have: a teeming hive of a lobby, elevators that go into the stratosphere (and require long waits), stairs with so many flights that you don't even think of using them. This is true quiet.
This is my last trip and l will miss my annual visit.
Room was quite nice. A somewhat loud volume of TV woke me up. This is not the hotel’s fault but I believe signs posted should remind guests that the building is not a modern sound proof one. Most people know this and others need reminding.
Location across from Golden Gate Park couldn’t be better! Lovely staff!
