The cool thing about James Bay Inn Hotel & Suites is that it is located steps away from Emily Carr House and Beacon Hill Park, and it is an eco-certified hotel.
I stay at the JBI quite often. It is not fancy by any means but full of character with old school charm and creaky floors that I personally love. The customer service is always top notch and the location is perfect. The JBI is always my first choice when staying in Victoria.
I was treated like a valued guest and WILL be back. This was my first time staying at the Inn and I found it charming and a wonderful experience. I am planning a return trip within a few months and hope to go back twice or three times a year.
We stayed for a week at JBI. It was a great location for us. So close to the Emily Carr House where an art show opening P. Jean Oliver was happening! So close to Beacon Hill Park and downtown and the inner harbour and Fisherman's Wharf. The bed was super comfortable. The food downstairs at the restaurant as well as the pub were both excellent and you can't beat the convenience of it being right downstairs. The staff was very helpful.
Kind, helpful staff, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom, welcoming old fashioned lobby, especially decked out for the Christmas season…my favorite kind of old fashioned hotel, not the impersonal corporate soulless kind, but warm and friendly.
