From the minute we drove up to the Crowns Plaza, Lake Placid our experience was great. The staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They were always at the ready for assistance. I requested a room near the elevator and I was accommodated. The room was very clean, decor was appealing. The king bed and pillows were plush and very comfortable, which afforded us great relaxing sleep. The bathroom was spacious. There was a lot of counter space, a large walk in shower. We had a balcony overlooking Mirror Lake which was relaxing with a great view. We ate breakfast each morning at Mackenzie’s, which for a fee gave us a sumptuous buffet. One evening we ate dinner in The Great Room, which is beautifully furnished in an elegant lodge decor which we found grand but not pretentious. Our dinners and cocktails were delicious. The indoor pool and hot tub were relaxing after a long day of walking and taking in the sights. The entire property is elegant, tasteful lodge decor. There are many places inside the lobby area to relax and converse in comfy couches and chairs. There are also places to relax and breath in the mountain air in the outdoor areas with Adirondack chairs and plush seating. We loved our stay and plan to return with our dog. This is a very friendly dog (of all sizes) hotel.
Great room: fireplace, jetted tub, pet friendly and very clean and quiet.
Nice place overall, great views. Only reason I give it 3stars is because the person on the phone reservationist and the hotel reception said it was complementary breakfast. Nope….
Enjoyed staying at this location. This hotel was clean and neat and decorated in an Adirondack style.
