For many years I was platinum with Marriot otherwise close. The kindness an quality of Marriot and its Courtyard Property sealed my allegiance. UNTIL LAST NIGHT. Tired from an 8 hour drive, I made a reservation on the road for a room for myself and my 10 lb pet. I had asked if there was a pet fee and told no. When I went to check in, I had a clerk who didn't care about my experience or whether I had a choice to stay there. She then passed a piece of paper and said this is authorizing your $75 fee for your pet. Not even refundable when there is no damage. BUT it gets worse. I get to my room and it is 61 degrees, the unit won't change. I call the front desk and the clerk tells me to just turn it up. I have it set to 82 and it won't change, I reply. "Well that is all I can do, maintenance is gone for the day." I said, I cannot sleep or stay in a room that is 61 degrees, you need to do something. She then came back and said I will move you. I got into the new room, as I prepared to go to bed, I dropped my watch, as I bent down to pick it up, there in the stand next to the bed was a pair of dirty socks. The quality of the room was at a super 8 level. Why stay at Courtyard anymore. I can get the same comfort and probably better service at another chain. Oh my room when I left had no pet damage but the socks I left for you.
The heater made a horrible noise and did not heat.
