The hotel was a fair price. Service was very good.
Housekeeping didn’t clean our room Today. We had to get towels, washcloths and towels. for tonight’s stay. Is there a discount for this?.
We stayed this pasted weekend and the fire alarm went off multiple times causing my children to be scared and uneasy. Went down the the reception multiple time for them to tell me there was nothing they could about it. At check out there was never no offer for a discount or anything for the inconvenience of this. Also the pictures online show a hot tub and bigger slide which was not included at the pool area.
I am a high school cheer coach. Every year at this time, I bring my team to the state championships in Columbus. This is probably at least our fifth year staying at this particular hotel. It is close to our venue, clean and always offered a great free breakfast to feed my team before we compete. We thought breakfast started at 6 am and there was nothing on the website or on my confirmation email that stated otherwise. But when we arrived we were told it wouldn’t start until 7 am because it was a Saturday. My team needed to leave the hotel at 7 am in order to get to the competition on time. So I asked if they could at least set out some grab and go items like muffins and fruit. The lady checking us in got very snippy and said no. There was nothing she could do for us because we didn’t call days in advance to ask for it. Which we would have done if we were aware of the late breakfast time…but we were not. I found out later that this particular lady may have already had that same conversation with several other people because there were at least three other cheer teams with the same problem. So she might have been out of patience by the time I checked in. Not sure. So…the next morning I came down at 6:45 to grab a coffee. I saw that there were muffins, bagels and fruit out. There was another cheer team grabbing some of those things on their way out the door, so I texted my team and told them to do the same. I figured at least they’d get something in them before competing. But when my girls came down, an employee came out and told them, rudely, that they could not have anything until 7 am. Not even the muffins or fruit that were already out! Keep in mind it was 6:50 am by this point. So only 10 minutes before breakfast was supposed to open anyway. We were absolutely shocked. I have 16 girls on my team. Each of their families had a room there overnight. The cost of that room included a free breakfast that they did not receive. Another coach staying there told me they had the exact same issue. I understand that the employee opening breakfast was probably not scheduled to come in early enough to get everything ready early. Especially the hot items. But to tell us we couldn’t have access to grab and go items just 10 minutes prior to the opening of breakfast is absurd. I had contact with only two staff members during my stay. The lady who checked us in and the lady who was setting up breakfast. Both interactions were very brief…but we were snipped at both times. Overall, we just felt very unwelcome. I will be staying at another hotel with my team next year.
