We were in Des Moines for a murder mystery dinner at the Embassy suites. The accommodations and breakfast were great. We would certainly return.
Richard, who was pushing around a bin in the lobby, was nice enough to take our picture so we could all be in it! Food was delicious at Liberty's and breakfast was great.
Hotel was not clean or well kept. Carpet was ripped, bedding was unsatisfactory, there was grime on floor tiles. Reserved the room on my credit card but used my debit card for incidentals upon check in, politely asked the credit card be charged for the room, I was then charged in my debit card, then the money was refunded and then recharged a day later. The entrance/exit into the parking garage is a SEVERE hazard but based on the state of the the rooms I’m guessing this will not be addressed. At a bare minimum the key pad to enter the garage could be moved.
We allow guests to skip housekeeping services by day and received a $5 pantry voucher each day housekeeping is declined.

I absolutely love this hotel. I don’t stay anywhere else when I come to Des Moines. For the first time, the teen church guests were seriously out of control. The staff did get the kids under control but I didn’t see the kids chaperone in sight. Anyway, love the restaurant and breakfast! Very professional staff everywhere!
