Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City National Airport
The cool thing about Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City National Airport is that it offers a complimentary cook-to-order breakfast and has a fitness center for guests to enjoy.
I knew my arrival would be 11:00 p.m. or later. I was taking an Amtrak train that wouldn't arrive at Union Station until 10:30 p.m. Then I was taking the Washington Metro from Union Station to Crystal City. Then it was a 10 minute walk. I called ahead and left this information with Hilton. It was not with the front desk, but with a national service line with Hilton who assured me they would let the front desk at Hilton Embassy Suites in Crystal City know about it. The front desk staff was excellent. However, when I arrived outside my room on the 8th floor Room 801, I think. The door was not latched shut. This was around 11:30 p.m. I did not feel it was safe to enter this open room. I returned to the desk and told them the problem. I was reassigned to a room on the 4th floor. In that room I could not figure out how to turn on the lights in the bedroom. I called the front desk and they instructed me to use a light switch inside the front door to the room. That didn't work. I was so exhausted I contemplated just sleeping in the dark room, but I couldn't see my way around and it seemed like more than I could manage. I called the front desk and told them I couldn't get the lights on. They reassigned me to a room on the second floor. That room had no problems. The free breakfast was excellent. The chef made a delicious omelet for me. The coffee was good.
I had a wonderful stay. Very clean and elegant. Would definitely stay here again.

Expedia Group verifies all reviews to ensure that the customer has indeed booked on our site. To encourage customers to submit their reviews, we send an email containing a link to evaluate the hotel to which we sometimes attach a reduction or Expedia Rewards voucher to use on a future trip. We post all reviews whether they are positive or negative, to the extent that they respect our content directives. This monitoring is automated. Any rejection is manually checked and, if maintained, notified to the reviewer by email with reasons. We do not otherwise process changes, nor reviewer contact. We de-list reviews after 4 years, other than for properties having a non-significant number of reviews.
