The carpet in this room was very stained and dirty, we were put in a smoking room although I don’t think we reserved a smoking room, the rear building door didn’t close properly, so anyone could come in without a room key. Won’t stay there again.
I booked a room for a friend. She got professional and personalized service, which is uncommon for a budget hotel. They went above and beyond.

Went to the Hawkeye basketball game. Location is convenient for that. Services in that area served our needs. Desk employees were very inviting. Parting was easy. Room also served our needs. Stayed at this location several times in the past. I did detect a urine odor in the stairway area going up from the lobby area.
The heater thermometer did not work, we could not cool off the room without turning the heat/AC unit off. We booked through Super 8. Our room cost was $68. They charged my cc $105; $10.50 was cancelation insurance which I did not want. The physical hotel said they only charged $68. $40 for the convenience of booking online is not business friendly.
The staff was so helpful and pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable.
