Great, handy, clean place. Very polite staff. Very nice breakfast experience.
I called the hotel directly to make a reservation and told the gentleman I wanted a suite with two Queen beds. I asked to be closer to the elevators because three of us use canes and have a hard time walking. He told me that he had a two queen bed room with a walk in shower that he could give me. I asked if it was a suite with a couch and a fridge because we would be there at 3pm and we needed the extra space to sit. He said yes it did. I did not see that room online so I asked again are you sure that the room is a suite with a couch and fridge and he guaranteed me it was. When I got to the hotel I was given a regular handicap room and I explained to the woman the conversation I had with the booking agent. She was very nice and moved us to room 216 which was a suite that I had paid for. She also called the room about 30 minutes later to confirm that we liked the room which I was impressed with her follow through. About two hours later someone was knocking on the door and ringing the bell which was obnoxiously loud like a fire alarm and when I opened the door there were people there trying to check into my room, they showed me their keys and everything. They went back downstairs and the front desk called me stating that I had never checked out that morning. I explained that I had just checked in less than two hours ago and I told her the story. She sounded very confused and said the woman that checked me in hadn’t transferred the reservation over to room 216 which we were in. The next morning when I went to check out around 6:30am they still did not have me in room 216 and the young man called the manager over who was extremely rude to me. I explained the story of what had happened and how I ended up in room 216 and he rudely told me that I needed to pay attention when making reservations so I didn’t cause them so many problems at the hotel. I explained that I did pay attention and had confirmed several times with the booking agent. He huffed and walked away. I joined my friends at the breakfast buffet and he came over visiting with family he had at breakfast then walked into the food area and got grits which he ate while walking around the dining area and lobby while it dribbled out of his mouth, it was disgusting. I will be staying at the hotel again but if this happens again or if he is rude to me again I will not stay here again and I will tell everyone I know who travels back and forth from Florida to up north not to stay there either.
