Atlantis is dedicated to maintaining and improving energy-efficient practices to reduce its carbon footprint. Our ongoing efforts have earned Green Building Initiative's Four Green Globes certification and Nevada Hotel Lodging Association's .Sustainability Leading Company. Our energy-efficient efforts include energy-efficient lighting, variable speed drives on heating and cooling water pumps, and a state-of-the-art energy management system. This includes installing new shower heads in 100% of guest rooms, saving over over 1.7 million gallons of water a year, replacing all faucets across the property, reducing water flow from 2.0 GPM (gallons per minute) to an impressive 1.0 GPM and updating all incandescent light bulbs with LEDs property-wide, saving over 6 million kilowatts/hour since 2005. Through this initiative, food scraps and other organic materials are separated and diverted from the traditional waste stream and processed into compost. Atlantis has a single-stream recycling program to capture additional materials from the waste stream. This program allows recyclable materials, such as cardboard, chipboard, paper, plastics, aluminum, and steel cans to be deposited into one container. Atlantis recycles its kitchen vegetable oil (cooking oil) waste to make bio-diesel fuels, which can be used in place of petroleum diesel fuel for vehicles. Bio-diesel is a renewable resource that creates less pollution than petroleum diesel. Atlantis is proud to be Reno's only Tesla Supercharger Partner, offering six Tesla Supercharger stations available 24/7 located on the East Lot. Additionally, Atlantis offers two standard Tesla charging stations located on the West Lot and two Charge-point EV chargers next to the marquee on S. Virginia Street.
