The room was charming and had a separate area as a little kitchen, a good sized bath and ample hot water. The radiator pinged all night, which was unsettling, but the room was warm, at least.

The Carleton hotel is located in heart of downtown Oak Park close to shops, restaurants, the train to Chicago proper and in walking distance to FLW neighborhood. We were visiting local friends. We had two fun filled days including site seeing and tour of the FLW home and studio. Then a day in Chicago; Art Institute and Riverboat architecture tour. It was convenient to have Poor Phil’s downstairs for drinks and even a bite to eat. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful! We were able to catch an Uber into the City very easily. Overall, a great place to stay that was very comfortable with spacious room and good beds. (One comment would be that the toilet bowl is industrial grade and loud!).
Employees were very nice. The hotel was charming and very clean. Our room was comfortable too!
