The check in experience was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. My room was clean. There is a variety of drinks including bottled water.
Overall, good stay for one night while husband was in hospital. At check out the lady was super nice and ensured I got a shuttle back to the hospital.
The location of the lodge to Duke Medical Clinic is very close and convenient. The room has all the necessities needed when staying in a hotel, i.e. microwave, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, big screen TV and free Internet access. The price was very economical as well. I would recommend especially for a short stay.

The hotel is convenient to Duke Hospital and staff is friendly. Room is okay.
The hotel itself is clean but old and is fine. The staff put it over the moon! People who stay here are usually visiting someone at Duke, or having serious testing done and it's hard but they are genuinely positive, upbeat people. That makes such a difference. Stay here to lighten your day.
My husband and I stayed here for the night because he was having surgery at Duke the next day. At check in, the staff was totally welcoming, down to earth and professional. The rooms were exceptionally clean and we recommend The Lodge for your place of rest whether you're staying one night or five nights. And to boot,the hospital was in walking distance.
