Hilton Miami Downtown

I checked into this hotel at 11:30pm and when I stepped off the elevator I was shocked at the 1980’s decor, the actual darkness of the rooms and the threadbare towels. I immediately went back to the front desk and while they were very nice there was nothing they could do because I had unknowingly booked this room through an online site 😡 be vigilant about knowing how you book which I had prided myself on in the past… this hotel should not be in the Hilton family nam It is shamefully less than any Hilton hotel experience I’ve ever had and I will never return or recommend this hotel to anyone.
After trying, unsuccessfully to book on Expedia, I called Hilton directly. Thought I booked a junior suite, ended up with standard room. Disappointing for Christmas Eve. Valet was unresponsive after 20 minutes, went to front desk, they were unsuccessful getting valet response, so went directly to valet area to get my car. Returned to hotel at 1:00 AM, employee standing in valet area, turned and walked away when we pulled in. No help until I went to valet cubicle and engaged a reluctant Employee. Not usual Hilton service standards.

From valet, front desk, dining, bar, housekeeping and management our experience was world class. My wife was convalescing following surgery and every staff person was genuinely kind, caring and conscientious. Convenient to restaurants, Publix and the Port. Clean and safe… highly recommended!
