Renaissance Allentown Hotel
The Renaissance Allentown Hotel offers a variety of amenities including a bar/lounge, gym, pool, spa, and pet-friendly accommodations.
Hotel stay was great! Had a glitch with TV which still had previous user and guide did not work. The Dime restaurant in the hotel we had breakfast was terrible. I have had better free continental breakfasts. The bacon must have been deep fried cause if you squeezed it grease dripped out. So the breakfast in a word, SUCKED! Overall I would stay there again but I will never eat in their restaurant!
Not familiar with downtown Allentown. We are in our 80’s. Drove to your hotel with the address given us on our “Hotel Reservation Confirmation” (12 North 7th Street. Allentown, PA. 18101). When we got there we couldn’t see anything with the hotel name on it or any place that looked like an entrance to pull into to unload. So we drove around, (not easy, all one way streets) again to see if we missed it. Again, nothing that has hotel or Renaissance on it. We did see PPL Center and parking for PPL Center but nothing that said hotel or hotel parking. Sure that we had missed something we drove around again and again and again. Finally we saw a place we could pull off into the loading dock of the PPL Center. My husband called the only phone number we had for the hotel, which was the reservation service. He asked for the hotel front desk number. The person on the phone had a heavy foreign accent and difficult for him to understand. She kept wanting to know our itinerary number and other information. I think she got upset with him and disconnected. He tried again. After going through a similar ordeal, finally got the hotel desk number. Called the hotel desk and they did not answer. Waited a bit and tried again. Finally got someone. We just wanted to know how we get into the hotel. She gave us the same address we already had. We told her we cannot find an entrance or anything with a hotel name on it. Asked where we could park. We told her where we were. So she said let me give you an address. I said we already have it. She said it was different for the parking. WHY don’t you let people know that! She said to park in the garage and there were directions in there. NO! No directions in the garage. We had to go into the elevator area before we saw any directions. Then it was lots of walking and several elevators before we could find the front desk. (From the time we arrived by your hotel until we got to the front desk it had been an hour). Very frustrating for 80+ year old people. When looking out the door of the lobby, we could see the front doors do not face the street, they face the corner. I guess they have a couple of places where you could pull up for the valet parking. They were filled and we could not see a sign anywhere. We then waited in line to check in. The desk girl was very pleasant. She checked us in and took us up to our room to make sure we got there ok. She did admit that they were not answering the phone because they were busy. We were both so exhausted and frustrated with the situation we sat down and cried. We paid $433.39 for THIS! The room was dark, with very uncomfortable furniture. No place comfortable to sit. I used the toilet and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. One light had a burned out bulb. I called the desk and someone was there promptly with a new bulb. Got ready to go to our event. The safe, which we wanted to use, was up so high we could barely reach it, could not see the directions on it and it was locked. Called the desk and someone was there promptly to unlock it. After our event we returned to go to bed. The pillows stunk like dirty hair. I finally used a couple of towels for pillows. Certainly not what I would expect for the price we paid. The sheets were very thin and we kept getting tangled up in them all night. Not a good nights rest🙁. Everyone we encountered there at the hotel, restaurant and arena were very pleasant and accommodating. But overall a poor experience. Should have been a lot different for the money we paid. Asking for a refund.
Loved the rustic decor. Great rooms. Felt very safe.
Every thing was top notch!
