I have visited Port Townsend many times but had never stayed at the Palace before and thought it was high time I gave it a shot. The price was reasonable, the hotel did all the normal stuff right (clean, tidy, good signage, etc) as well as a beautiful building. The windows were huge (with good blinds) and waking up to a wintry Water Street below was such a treat. The brass fixtures in the bathroom and especially the clawfoot tub was really nice touch, we had a great time and the bed was enormous. We will be staying here again.

This is one of the few hotels that has a great option for firm mattresses on their beds. I had a very comfortable night sleep and enjoy the Victorian atmosphere in downtown Port Townsend!
We love the Palace Hotel. It's got charm and character unlike most modern hotels. We love the attention to details that make you feel like you're in a completely different era. Our rooms have been clean and comfortable and the staff has been friendly and helpful. Port Townsend is a quaint little town on the water and simply delightful.

Very charming and historic property. Not for those that cannot climb stairs.
Don’t let the lobby fool you. There’s a mezzanine which is one step nicer than the lobby. The bonus is the sitting room on the second floor. We stayed in room # 2. Wow! So fun! The bed was great and everything was spic and span and spotless. We will be back next time. We are in Townsend!
