We had a great stay at Holiday Inn Express in Allen Park MI this past weekend with my 7yr old son and my brother and sister in laws. The rooms were completely clean and the breakfast was legit one of the best we've had at a Holiday Inn. We loved the mini omlets and my son kept saying. this is all free? haha. The only suggestion I had is the A/C fan is super loud in the room, so to sleep at night was pretty disturbing, if your not used to sleeping with noise. Other than that, great experience.
