One in a lifetime experience.
Room was great! Stay was wonderful. The only downside was trying find and to enter the hotel driveway to register, but the valet was there to help us! Without the valet, it would have been complete chaos. Hats off to the valet out front!

Our stay of 7 days was perfect. The hotel was busy but service overall was timely and professional. ..The rooms were well decorated orderly and clean. This hotel a must stay for first time visitors in Ottawa. A historical hotel evoking a sense of grandeur and timeless elegance. Grand ballrooms and ornate furnishings. supports its history. The hotel location is in the core of Ottawa walking distance to major sites and museums.

Beautiful, albeit old, but in a fabulous location.
I was not impressed by the cost of the room, the funds were in USD and upon checking my credit card the cost went from quoted 449 to 631, plus additional cost upon checking in. I have not been reimbursed anything on my credit card for incidentals. I would highly NOT recommend using Expedia, I was hosed, very disappointing.
The staff was just great and were quite helpfull in making our 40th anniversary a very special occasion as our wedding reception had also been at the Château 40 years ago.
Our experience at this elegant hotel was one of welcome and comfort.

Toilet paper and Kleenex were of very low quality, bathtub needs changing. In this day and age, because of our large aging population, higher toilets and grab bars in beside the toilet as well as grab bars inside the bathtub should be the standard to follow. Otherwise, I had a relaxing time. I would definitely return.
