SpringHill Suites by Marriott Baltimore Downtown Convention Center Area

We came up to go to Hippodrome Theater for Phantom of the Opera performance. Spring Hill Suites was an extremely nice place to spend the night. Accommodations were great and located right by theater. There was a delightful man named Linwood who helped us so much with our breakfast.
When I booked three rooms at this hotel for our family trip, I called Springhill Suites and was told by a very nice person that we would have free parking and they would do their best to put us all together in the same area. On checking in, the lady behind the desk was NOT helpful and check in was not easy. She refused to try to put our rooms together and said she was giving us whatever rooms came up on the screen. We were on three different floors. When I asked about parking she said there is NO free parking and we had to pay $45.00 per night per vehicle! I had called a few days ahead of time to confirm our reservation and was told again about the free parking and rooms close together. It was very disappointing and a shock to have to pay an additional $270 to park our three vehicles. The rooms were nice and we did appreciate the security of the hotel as it's not in the best area of Baltimore. (I didn't know that when I booked it since I was unfamiliar with the area). Breakfast was good on Sunday but on Monday the selection was very slim and not as much to eat. I had already booked us back into the hotel for the following Friday night and considered not coming back but I had prepaid so we came back. The hotel itself was nice, the front desk staff were not friendly or helpful.
The staff was great, room and location great! We were right next to a public market with really good food. Great entertainment in the area. I would recommend to any visiting that area.
