Wonderful Stay
The Poinsett does not disappoint! When you enter the lobby, you walk back 100 years but now with all modern conveniences. The staff is professional, which is also a throwback to earlier times l and the soft fresh baked cookies for the guests are heavenly! The room was extremely clean and the hint of fragrance was wonderful. This was a magnificent choice for our 45th anniversary!
The building is a step back in time. The accents all around harkened back to romantic times. It's too bad the dinning room isn't used for dinner, they might be able to enhance their offerings. Breakfast had it's issues every day, but they weren't that same issues. The staff were the heros. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly to a fault. All of them. The bell caps for lack of better titles, ambassadors would be more accurate. Again, all of them. They worked as a team and all kept in touch. Informative as well, they ran the front of the property. There were some chinks in the armor, but at 100 years old, the makeup doesn't always stick. We'll be back if only to greet an old friend.

My wife and I have stayed at this property at least 30 times over the last 20yrs. The service and room quality have always been first class. On this occasion there was a large wedding scheduled for Friday and a major non profit event for Saturday. Due to a staff shortage we experienced difficulty receiving our luggage to the room and difficulty with a room change the next day. In each occasion the management compt us with breakfast and house cocktails We believe the problem was due to the pressure of the two events. We will continue to use this hotel in the future.

Hotel is clean, beds comfortable and staff accommodating. Just like it was 60 years ago. We had an absolute ball.
