I made a same day reservation at Hotel Royal Oak when my power went out during a storm and DTE estimated I wouldn’t get power back for two days. The reservation was “non refundable” so I bought the insurance. Happily, my power came back earlier than estimated so I didn’t need my reservation unfortunately though, the insurance only worked if I was ill and had a doctor’s appointment. Hotel Royal Oak was gracious enough to allow me to cancel my reservation and I was able to get a refund. Thank you Hotel Royal Oak for your understanding. I will definitely be coming there and recommending the business to anyone staying in town.
