"Beautiful, Historic Building, Amenities"

Worth taking the time to explore. It was so wonderful and insightful to take the time to explore this exquisite, historic building. Its like the heart of Winnipeg in the heart of Winnipeg. From the first glance at the opulence of the lobby and Oval Room, to the gilded walls and ceilings, this building is a cherished icon of Winnipeg that harkens back to a time of ballrooms, luxury, art deco, the roaring 20's, a time of grandeur, gilded with gold, rich velvets and ornate detail. The sitting areas reminded us of the importance of just sitting and being. The wonderful and cheerful, professional staff and all the amenities you could want made our stay at the Fort Garry very special and memorable. If you are new to the city, visiting or have lived here your whole life, you need to spend some time at the Fort Garry. Its a beautiful experience.

We were warmly welcomed from the time we drove in. Pleasantly treated at the front desk and very helpful staff. We were here for our 45th wedding anniversary and we plan on returning for our 46th.

My room was fine but the walls paper thin. I could hear toilets flushing, people coughing and talking. Doors slamming at one in the morning. Babies crying, dogs barking, someone‘s sleep music at three in the morning.

I was her for a spa weekend woth my sister. She lives in Toronto and I live near Edmonton. Winnipeg is the halfway point between us so we decided to come here for a visit. This is a beautifully appointed hotel with gorgeous architecture and a perfect location. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly. The spa on the 10th floor is outstanding. We will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone at the Fort Garry Hotel for a wonderful experience.

However the food in the Oval Room is not good.

Beautiful architecture and historic design elements, combined with modern updates in the rooms and amenities. Staff service is excellent and timely. The only drawback is the plumbing shows its age. slow sink drains and obviously some $$$ saved by not updating sink hardware. Beds are comfortable, if on the soft side. Overall, a very nice hotel.
