Hello Best Western Team, We felt it was important to share some thoughts on our recent stay at your hotel on 1156 S Oxnard Blvd. We booked on January 9th. Specifically we need to praise the young gentleman working the front desk during our stay, Joseph (didn't get his last name). We were one of the families evacuating the fires near Pacific Palisades, as I'm sure many people staying at the hotel were likely in similar situations. Joseph offered kind greetings and brought a warm energy to our check in. I needed to get on a video call and spent some time in the lobby that evening. I was privy to a handful of interactions with other guests. I was impressed with his patience and positive attitude. I'm sure working in a service position like this has more than its fair share of stressful interactions, but your staff must have been dealing with a significant number of people in situations like ours. A gentleman concerned about his service animal, a woman with a problem using a credit card, an adorable old couple who couldn't figure out apps to order food and a couple who accidentally reserved a room for the wrong night. I was trying not to snoop, but with each issue, Joseph was patient, attentive and kind. A lot of people passed his desk in an understandably agitated state. We expect someone in a position like that to be attentive, but Joseph approached each challenge with thoughtfulness. Even though our reservation was problem free, I was still dealing with the stress of leaving our home. Just hearing Joseph at work handle problems for other people helped calm some of my nerves. I made a point of shaking his hand and letting him know I appreciated how he helped the other guests. Similarly, on checking out, we had some confusion over our reservation and both Saati and Jeannette were very helpful in sorting out our stay. I hope this message can be passed to their managers and BW executives, so they know we really appreciated this service. We interacted with outstanding representatives. It was a rough situation for a lot of people, and they rose to this occasion.
Need and extra layer of blankets, it was cold even with the heat up.
